Black Copper Marans
(BCM) are famous for
their dark reddish brown eggs. These have been a favourite of ours
with their beautiful eggs, friendly personality and eye catching
colour. Plum coloured eggs (bottom left egg below) have a heavy
bloom, the white coating, over a dark egg and look purple. They
occasionally show up in the nesting box.
Some chicks will have black/brown
mottled feathers which turn black as they feather into adult plumage.
It's possibly from Wheaten Marans being bred into the BCM in a line I
brought in.

Dark Olive Eggers These
chickens are a cross between very dark egg Black Copper Marans (BCM)
and Ameraucana.
It's a fabulous combination that
gives a very dark brown egg which is quite different from the reddish,
terracotta
colour of the pure BCM. These beauties are head turners.
The chickens look like a BCM but may have an Ameraucana comb and
yellow legs.

F1 Olive Eggers! The
chicks will be 50% Black Copper Marans and 50% Wheaten Ameraucana. The offspring
are generally black, often have the earmuffs and beard of the
Ameraucana and lay beautiful coloured eggs in shades of olive
green. A lovely accent to any egg carton.

Swedish Flower Hens
are one of our favourite chickens because of their people friendly
personalities, the fact they are all different colours and are
productive layers.
We had them years ago and are excited to have sourced excellent
stock to start with again.
They look even better as they mature as their 'thousand flowers'
pattern, each feather tipped in white, increases as they age.

Wheaten Ameraucana are
one of the prettiest colours of Ameraucana. The rooster is a very
different colour than the hen which makes them easy to tell apart at
an early age.
This is our first time with them and we're excited to have
sourced some excellent stock which produce blue eggs.

Bearded Silkies!!! Adorable
little puffs of chickens. They are silly, docile characters that lay
all winter which has earned them a spot in our small collection of
breeds.
We have a mixed colour flock with a Paint and a Silver
Partridge rooster over
Paint, Silver Partridge and Black hens. They are bearded with a
generous top floof and have 5 toes..
